Trace - Amazon Sustainability Platform

Collapsed reporting from six weeks to under 24 hours and scaled the pilot from 5 to 500+ sites. As Product Owner I owned the full backlog, shipped the MVP in ten weeks and demoed live to the Amazon team - turning a sustainability rollout that ran on manual reporting into near real-time visibility across every site.

  • Led end-to-end solution design and requirements for enterprise sustainability tracking across six waste producers and processors, integrating logistics and waste data across the full value chain.
  • Owned the full product backlog, defined and prioritised user stories, represented the customer voice to engineering, and delivered live demos directly to the Amazon team.
  • Launched the MVP within ten weeks using a Kanban approach - accelerating rollouts from four-week cycles to weekly releases.
  • Designed dashboards that surfaced reporting discrepancies and supported data-driven operational decisions.
  • Cut reporting cycles from six weeks to under 24 hours (a 42× improvement), enabling near real-time visibility for waste-diversion initiatives.

Asilia Africa - Digital & Systems Transformation

Tripled digital sales and removed 500+ hours of manual reporting a month across 15+ locations. I built the ERP and CRM ecosystem from scratch and ran the automation and marketing engine - lifting conversion from 8% to 25% at a luxury safari business that had been running on spreadsheets.

ISB Global - Enterprise Customer Lifecycle

Delivered one integrated lifecycle platform supporting 2,000,000+ customers and 100,000+ contracts for clients turning over $1bn+. As Lead BA and Product Owner I owned requirements across CRM, billing, customer portal and contract management, replacing fragmented systems with a single platform.

  • Drove stakeholder alignment across business and technical teams of 5–20 people, translating requirements into functional specifications for Scrum and Kanban delivery.

Earlier Career - Agency Leadership & Technical Roots

Before enterprise delivery I grew blue-chip agency accounts - MultiChoice (DStv) and Allan Gray among them - at Gloo Digital Design, later acquired by Ogilvy. Earlier still, I built the web and database systems (ASP/SQL) that gave me the developer's grounding I still draw on as a BA today.

  • Gloo Digital Design - Senior Account Director (2011–2014): managed and grew enterprise client accounts including MultiChoice (DStv) and Allan Gray, delivering multi-million-rand annual account growth and partnering with senior stakeholders on digital strategy and solution design.
  • Led end-to-end delivery of digital projects for major South African and international brands; the agency was subsequently acquired by Ogilvy, one of the world's largest agency networks.
  • Spur Group - Web & Database Developer, ASP/SQL (2002–2005): built web and database solutions for a national franchise of 400+ restaurants, including an extranet/intranet to capture operational data and enable KPI tracking and benchmarking.
  • Independently gathered requirements and designed, developed and deployed those systems end to end - the hands-on technical foundation behind how I work as a business analyst today.
  • Education: BBusSci (Hons), Information Systems - University of Cape Town.

A little about me

High standard at work. Easy company after it.

I hold my work to a high standard, but I'm easy to work with - and good company once the laptop's shut. Outside work you'll find me chasing sunshine: hiking the mountains, in the ocean, or firing up a braai. Weekends often mean a Cape Town wine estate with my family, or slipping off to the countryside. I grew up taking trips into the Kgalagadi - deep Kalahari country - and never lost the love of wild places and the animals in them. There's a particular kind of rustic elegance, wild and refined at once, that I'll always go looking for. Usually with Boris, my French bulldog, not far behind.
